DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, December 18. CHINA's Zhao Jing paced the semifinal round with a meet record in the women's 50 back at the FINA World Short Course Championships.

Australia's Rachel Goh finished second in 26.68, while Belarus' Aleksandra Gerasimenya took third in 26.77. Spain's Mercedes Peris Minguet (26.92), Russia's Anastasia Zueva (27.09), Japan's Miyuki Takemura (27.10), Gao (27.11) and Brazil's Fabiola Molina (27.13) grabbed the rest of the transfer spots into the finale.
