TYR Capital Classic: Michael Hughes Downs American Record in S6 Division

CARY, North Carolina, December 18. DURING a time trial last night broadcast to a worldwide audience via SwimmingWorld.TV, YOTA's Michael Hughes crushed a long-standing American disability record in the S6 division as part of the TYR Capital Classic.

Hughes clocked a smoking fast time of 39.02 in the men's S6 50-yard butterfly to eclipse the 1994 record of Dennis Calonico. Calonico had held the record for more than a decade with a top time of 46.01.
