Danish Short Course Championships: Danish Relay Record Falls

BRONSHOJ, Denmark, December 5. DURING the last session of the Danish Short Course Championships, a Danish relay standard was wiped from the record books.

Jakob Andkjaer, Daniel Skaaning, Morten Klarskov and Jonas Sorensen set the Danish record in the men's 200 free relay with a winning 1:28.89. That swim beat the previous record of 1:29.33 set in 2009.

Mads Glaesner took home the men's 1500 free crown in 14:55.91 to move to 16th in the world rankings.
Anders Lie touched second in 14:57.78 to move to 17th in the rankings, while Viktor Bromer rounded out the top three in 15:30.36.

Lotte Friis clinched the women's 200 free title in 1:57.63, while Pernille Blume downed the Dutch junior national record with a second-place time of 1:58.18. Blume lowered Friis' 2004 junior record of 1:59.49. Mie Nielsen picked up third in 2:00.15.

Kristina Thomsen won the women's 50 back in 27.65, while Pernille Larsen placed second in 28.36. Cecilie Hansen finished third in 28.76. Chris Christensen touched out Marcus Bak, 1:57.29 to 1:57.77, to win the men's 200 back. Anders Jensen moved into third with a 1:58.19.

Jeanette Ottesen captured the women's 100 fly in 59.47. Sidse Kehlet (1:01.68) and Tine Aagaard (1:02.06) finished second and third. Nikolai Kirketerp-Moller (52.66), Jakob Andkjaer (53.28) and Daniel Svane Halkjaer (53.64) comprised the men's 100 fly podium.

Julie Leth-Espensen won the women's 400 IM in 4:43.95. Rikke Moller Pedersen touched second in 4:45.19, while Katrine Holm Sorensen earned third in 4:49.48.

Julie Brondum Petersen, Linda Lund, Jeanette Ottesen and Josephina Bartela captured the women's 200 free relay in 1:41.89. Anders Jensen, Morten Klarskov, Jakob Andkjaer and Daniel Skaaning topped the men's 400 medley relay in 3:37.13. Mette Pedersen, Josephina Bartela, Jeanette Ottesen and Pernille Jalsoe won the women's 400 medley relay in 4:04.81.
