Spain, Russia Lose First Games at Home in FINA Men’s Water Polo World League

LAUSANNE, Switzerland, November 18. In Barcelona, the Iberians finished the regular time at 9-9 with Germany, but were then less lucky in the penalty shots, losing by 11-12. In Kazan, Russia could not overcome Romania, losing by 7-8.

In Group B (comprising also Russia and Romania), the team of Montenegro (second in 2010) had no problems in winning 16-2 against Turkey, in a match played in Budva.

Finally, no major surprises in Group C, where Croatia (third of the 2010 World League) comfortably beat Netherlands in Dubrovnik by 15-7. In Bergamo, Italy had a promising start in this World League edition, by defeating Greece 11-6.
