Siena vs. Niagara

NIAGARA, New York, November 6. THE Niagara women's swimming and diving team dropped a contest against MAAC foe Siena by a final score of 144-97 on Saturday afternoon.

"Siena did a great job of coming into our pool and taking us out of our element," head Niagara swimming and diving coach Ben Nigro said. "We had some good performances, but we also have plenty that we can improve on."

Junior Ashley Jones won the one-meter diving event (232.43), while finishing in second place during the three-meter diving event (196.05). Sophomore Julia Bulmahn took top honors in the 100 yard backstroke event (1:01.87).

Freshman Ashley Harrington took second place in the 1,000 yard freestyle (11:12.39), as did sophomore Aubrey Kettrick (1:58.35) in the 200 yard free event and sophomore Lindsey Jackson in the 200 yard IM event (2:15.07).

Both the Niagara men's and women's swimming and diving teams will be back in action on Nov. 13, when they take on cross-town rival Buffalo in a meet that will be broadcast by Lockport Community Television.
