Niagara vs. Fredonia

NIAGARA, New York, October 22. IN their first home meet of the season, the Niagara men's and women's swimming and diving teams swept visiting Fredonia by scores of 153-83 in the men's event and 138-105 in the women's event.

Nick Squire won the 1,000 yard free event in a time of 10:26.42, while also winning the 500 free event in a time of 4:56.90. Other double-winners on Friday were diver Ian O'Rourke (1m Dive – 257.18, 3m Dive – 286.80) and Brian Sawma (200 IM – 2:03.19, 100 Fly – 54.22). Ryan O'Laughlin won the 200 yard free event in a time of 1:49.63.

For the women's team, Lindsey Jackson and Aubrey Kettrick shined for the Purple Eagles. Jackson won the 200 yard IM event (2:12.49) and the 100 fly event (1:01.37), while Kettrick won the 50 yard free event (25.31) and the 100 yard free event (55.20). Julia Bulmahn won the 100 yard backstroke event for Niagara in a time of 1:01.93.

The men's team is back in action on Nov. 13, when they take on Buffalo. The women's team is back in action on Saturday, when they visit Youngstown State.
