Lake Erie vs. Findlay

PAINESVILLE, Ohio, October 16. THE University of Findlay men's and women's swimming teams competed at Lake Erie College on Saturday, October 16 in Painesville, Ohio. The women's squad won 9-of-11 events to win 119-70 while the men fell 85-45.

On the women's side, Ailsa Hershaw won three events to lead the team as she took first in the 200-yard freestyle (2:00.38), first in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:27.92) and first in the 500-yard freestyle (5:16.79).

Tonya Tikhonova also had a hand in three wins, capturing first in the 200-yard IM (2:18.80), winning the gold in the 100-yard freestyle (56.28) and teaming with Emily Thomas, Samantha Reynolds and Nikki Schnell-McCoy to place first in the 400-yard freestyle (3:55.53.

Thomas also won the 50-yard freestyle (25.66) while Schnell-McCoy was first in the 200-yard backstroke (2:11.65).

Mallory Ament added a first place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle (11:03.28).

On the men's side, Tim Andersson-Lind won the 500-yard freestyle (5:11.65) while John Bogart was first in the 50-yard freestyle (23.67).

The Oilers will be back in action again on October 24 against Clarion University in Clarion, Pennsylvania. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 pm.
