Show-Me Showdown

COLUMBIA, Missouri, October 8. MIZZOU Swimming and Diving hosted the seventh annual Show-Me Showdown to start off their 2011-2012 season. William Jewell College, Lindenwood University, Drury University, Missouri S&T, Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri State University and the University of Missouri all participated as a means to promote College Swimming across the state.

The Tigers had an excellent start with women's 200 medley relay squad of Cassie Cunningham, Emy DiBeningo, Shara Stafford, and Lisa Nathanson earning a first place win, with a time of 1:43.41.

Igor Kozlovskij placed first for the Tigers in the men's 150 breaststroke with a final time of 1:30.50.

The University of Missouri placed first in both the men and women 400 yard freestyle. Stephanie Rovig recorded a time of 3:57.58 for the women's first place slot, and Egan Groome came in first for the men with a time of 3:34.57.

In diving, the Tigers swept the top three spots in the women's 3 meter competition. Jordan Morcom was first with 295.15 points, followed by Figueroa Lauren in second with 263.00 points, and Sharon Finn with 260.25 points in third.

Missouri's next meet will be the Southwest Plunge in Dallas, TX on October 28 and 29. The time of the meet has yet to be determined.
