Team USA Takes Sixth in Team at FINA Synchronized Swimming World Cup

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana, September 20. THE 2010 FINA World Cup wrapped up competition in Changshu, China this weekend with the team event. The United States finished in the sixth-place position with a final score of 91.700. Russia was named the FINA World Cup champion with a score of 98.150 followed by host-Federation, China (96.500). Canada took home a bronze medal (95.600) while Japan (93.600) and the Ukraine (92.400) followed respectively.

Earlier in the competition, Team USA took home fifth place (90.500) in the duet and was represented by Meghan Kinney (Mission Viejo, Calif.), Michelle Theriault (North Hills, Calif.) and Mary Killman. In the solo, 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Member, Christina Jones (Fremont, Calif.) placed fifth with an overall score of 90.650.

The 2010 U.S. National Team is led by Jenny Ekhilevsky, who has coached on the international scene for 11 years and served as the 2008 Netherlands' Olympic Coach, and Kimmy McKinley, a former member of the U.S. National Team. The Team has been training in Santa Clara, Calif. since May.
