U.S. Long Course Nationals: Chad La Tourette Throws Down Top Ranked Time – Coverage Sponsored by TYR

IRVINE, California, August 7. MISSION Viejo can certainly produce distance talent, and Chad La Tourette is another great in head coach Bill Rose's Stable. La Tourette claimed the men's 1500 free title with the top ranked swim in the world at the U.S. Long Course Nationals. La Tourette clocked an amazing time of 14:55.39 to win the metric mile, well ahead of previous top-ranked Ryan Cochrane's 14:56.83 turned in for Canada in March.

Club Wolverine's Peter Vanderkaay finished second in 15:03.86, while Scenic City's Sean Ryan placed third in 15:04.84. Vanderkaay moved into fifth in the world, while Ryan earned seventh overall.

Germantown's Arthur Frayler (15:07.37), Delaware's Andrew Gemmell (15:10.87), Longhorn's Michael Klueh (15:20.22), WSY's Joe Kinderwater (15:21.29) and North Coast's Eric Hedlin (15:49.98) also competed in the A final. Frayler moved into the top 15 in the world with the time, while Gemmell also grabbed a top 15 spot.
