IRVINE, California, August 5. THE Colorado Stars foursome of Jordan Mattern (2:02.47), Caroline Piehl (2:02.52), Kelly Naze (2:04.55) and Missy Franklin (1:57.91) dominated the women's 800 free relay at the U.S. Long Course Nationals. The quartet clocked a sterling time of 8:07.45, just missing the long-standing 1981 meet record of 8:07.44.

Team Bruin's Alexandra Sullivan, Samantha Vanden Berge, Lauren Hall and Danielle Milligan finished second in 8:12.51, while Palo Alto Stanford's Maddy Schaefer, Camille Cheng, Alicia Grima and Jasmine Tosky touched third in 8:13.75.

Boilermaker (8:17.72), Indiana (8:17.87), Minnesota (8:18.05), Pleasanton (8:18.65) and Aggie (8:20.86) completed the rest of the top eight.
