Scottish Long Course Nationals: Rebecca Adlington, David Carry, Hannah Miley, Andrew Mayor Win on Day One

GLASGOW, Scotland, June 22. THE first day of the Scottish Long Course Nationals came to a close with four individual titles being handed out in Glasgow.

Rebecca Adlington won the women's 200 free in 1:59.45, well back of her eighth-ranked season-best time of 1:57.87 set in March at the Great Britain Nationals. Hannah Miley placed second in 2:00.37, just edging Joanne Jackson's third-place effort of 2:00.49.

David Carry topped the men's 400 free in 3:50.73, just off his 25th-ranked season best of 3:50.55 from March. Andrew Hunter touched a distant second in 3:53.08, while Jonathan Greig wound up third in 3:57.26.

Miley bounced back in the women's 200 IM to win in 2:14.41. She already owns a 2:12.32 from March that has her ranked 10th in the world. Eloise Barber finished second in 2:17.54, while 15-year-old Sycerika McMahon claimed third in 2:18.78.

Andrew Mayor captured the men's 200 fly crown in 2:00.24, while Cameron Brodie finished a close second in 2:00.87. Iain Macmillan completed the podium with a third-place 2:01.25.

Graeme Lyons cleared 27 seconds to lead semis in the men's 50 back in 26.56. Robbie Renwick touched second in 27.05, while Darren Ward finished third in 27.10. Lucy Worrall edged Louise Pate, 27.63 to 27.66, for the top seed in semis of the women's 50 fly. Jessica Sylvester rounded out the top three in 27.73.

Sara Lougher, 16, led the women's 50 breast semis with a 32.42. Kathryn Johnstone (32.48) and Kerry Buchan (32.91) also cleared 33 seconds for the top three qualification spots.
