USA Swimming Sectionals, Rockville: Felicia Lee Tops Meet Record

ROCKVILLE, Maryland, March 26. THE second night of short course yard swimming at the USA Swimming Sectionals held in Rockville, Md., produced a pair of meet standards.

North Baltimore's Felicia Lee set a meet record in the women's 100 fly with a 53.08. That swim beat Christy Raleigh's 2002 standard of 53.80. Loyola Blakefield's Tanja Kyllianen placed second in 55.15. AGUA's Lia Neal took third in 55.41.

North Baltimore's Camryne Morris clinched the women's 200 free title with a 1:48.78, while Neal finished second in 1:48.79. Parkland's Taylor O'Brien placed third in 1:49.14. NBAC's Andrew Cosgarea snared the men's 200 free in 1:38.83. Central Jersey's Connor Jaeger (1:39.21) and Ridgefield's Andrew Klutey (1:40.35) completed the top three.

Lancaster's Emily Cameron touched first in the women's 100 breast with a 1:01.63, while Parkland's Madison Burns took second in 1:02.89. NBAC's Rachael Schaffer claimed third in 1:03.11. Hauppauge's Brandon Modrov topped the men's 100 breast in 55.79. Machine's Richard Munch touched second in 56.57, while Ram's Emmett Dignan placed third in 56.80.

Columbia's Christopher Wall touched out Jaeger, 50.08 to 50.09, in the men's 100 fly. Machine's Jonathan Dee took third in 50.10 to complete the exciting finish.

Kyllianen won the women's 400 IM in 4:12.22. North Baltimore's Willa Wang (4:13.11) and Cameron (4:13.34) placed second and third. NBAC's Bryan Offutt captured the men's 400 IM in 3:52.03. Teammate Michael Thomas placed second in 3:55.09, while Jewish Community's David Paulk took third in 3:56.68.

In relay action, NBAC's Morris, Natalie Beale, Kelly Offutt and Kendall Surhoff set a meet record with a 7:18.32 in the women's 800 free relay. That clocking beat the 7:25.03 set by AGUA last year. Curl Burke's Cyrus Hashemi, Charles Katis, Serge Gould and Nicholas Tremols won the men's 800 free relay in 6:47.07.
