Amsterdam Swim Cup: Inge Dekker Shines

AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands, March 26. INGE Dekker shined on the second day of long course meter competition at the Amsterdam Swim Cup.

Inge Dekker won the women's 100 fly in 58.47. That performance moved her into fifth in the world this year behind Dana Vollmer's 58.42. Sarah Sjostrom finished second in 59.10, while Kimberley Vandenberg claimed third in 59.80. Silvia Dik topped the women's 100 back time trial in 1:03.94.

Sebastiaan Verschuren won the men's 200 free in 1:47.39. That swim moved him into third in the world this year behind Yannick Agnel (1:46.83) and Tae Hwan Park (1:46.98). Joost Reijns finished second with a 1:48.92, while Stefan de Die took third in 1:49.28. Femke Heemskerk cruised to victory in the women's 100 back with a 1:01.77. Wendy van den Zanden finished second in 1:02.30, while Jenny Mensing claimed third in 1:02.65.

Joeri Verlinden snatched the men's 100 fly title in 52.48, while Jason Dunford placed second in 53.01. Evgeny Korotyshkin rounded out the top three in 53.73. Lieke Verouden followed with a 4:49.55 for the women's 400 IM crown. Anat Zimin finished second in 4:58.29, while Joelle Scheps earned third in 5:01.13. Luca Ferretti then turned in a 7:59.65 for the win in the men's 800 free. Job Kienhuis (8:08.18) and Ward Bauwens (8:17.54) completed the top three.

Moniek Nijhuis touched out Chiara Boggiatto, 1:09.68 to 1:09.99, to win the women's 100 breast. Elise Matthysen claimed third in 1:10.12. Simon Sjodin earned the men's 200 IM title in 2:01.32. Federico Turrini (2:03.56) and Bram Dekker (2:03.62) took second and third.
