Niagara LSC Championships

WEBSTER, New York, March 26. STAR Swimming won the 2010 Niagara LSC Short Course Yard Championships, with the help of multiple winner Rachel Heferle, at the Webster Aquatic Center.

Heferle won four events individually, including the 1650 free (17:49.38), 400 IM (4:38.58), 100 back (1:00.67) and 200 back (2:09.03).

Teammate Lauren Caldwell joined Heferle as a multiple winner by winning three events. Caldwell swam to wins in the 200 IM (2:10.97), 100 fly (59.22), and 200 fly (2:09.07).

Other multiple winners included Marissa Oakey of TTSC and Lauren Perry of Synch. Oakey won the 200 free (1:56.75) and 500 free (5:09.60) and Perry won the 50 free (24.81) and 100 free (53.88).

For the women's relays, TTSC won the 200 free relay (1:41.60), Seacoast Swimming Association (SSA) won the 400-medley relay (4:05.02), DWSC won the 200 medley (1:51.44), and Star Swimming won the 800 free relay (8:05.47).

Ben Seketa of SYCH had the most individual wins for the men by winning four events. Seketa won the 200 IM (1:58.42), 200 free (1:46.05), 100 breast (1:01.19), and 200 breast (2:12.19). Teammate Carson Elias also had individual successes by winning both the 100 fly (52.80) and 100 free (48.32).

Other multiple event winners included Emmett Jacobi of the Pack Swim Team of Pittsford and Mark Wallace of Star Swimming. Jacobi won the 500 free (4:43.41) and 400 IM (4:15.27) and Wallace won the 100 back (54.14) and 200 back (1:58.89).

SSA men won two relays including the 400 medley relay (3:42.02) and 800 free relay (7:22.21). Fairport won the 200 free relay (1:30.37) and Star Swimming won the 200-medley relay (1:41.41).

Star Swimming won the championships with 368 points, SSA came in second with 318 points, and Fairport came in third with 298 points.
