Swiss Long Course Championships: Dominik Meichtry Completes Meet With Double -- March 14, 2010

GENEVA, Switzerland, March 14. THE final day of action at the Swiss Long Course Championships featured another Dominik Meichtry double.

Meichtry rattled his meet record in the men's 100 fly with a time of 54.45. That time came up just short of his 54.33 set a year ago. Nico Van Duijn (55.17) and Christian Schneiter (56.54) finished second and third. Meichtry doubled up with a 23.22 in the men's 50 free. Erik Van Dooren placed second in 23.42, while Aurelien Kunzi finished third in 23.50.

Maria Ugolkova won the women's 100 fly in 1:01.72. Laetitia Perez (1:02.52) and Martina van Berkel (1:02.76) claimed second and third. Laura Noccioli snagged the women's 50 free crown in 26.44. Carine Rognon (26.80) and Megan Faye Connor (26.98) rounded out the top three.


Alexandre Liess won the men's 200 IM in 2:09.28, while Eugenio Bianchi took second in 2:11.29. Martin Schweizer wound up third in 2:11.42. Anais De Marchi walked away with the women's 200 IM title in 2:22.44. Ramona Knusel (2:22.82) and Cherelle Oestringer (2:26.50) completed the podium.

Joel Escher earned the men's 800 free title in 8:23.70, while Jovan Mitrovic took second in 8:26.41. Martin Hohl touched third in 8:33.42. Iris Matthey took home the women's 1500 free title in 16:58.69, while Julia Hassler (17:28.69) and Oestringer (17:46.05) took second and third.
