Swiss Long Course Championships: Flori Lang Shines on Second Day

GENEVA, Switzerland, March 12. THE second day of swimming came to a close at the Swiss Long Course Championships held in Geneva.

Dominik Meichtry cruised through the men's 200 free with a time of 1:50.15, while Alexandre Liess finished a distant second in 1:54.21. Erik Van Dooren completed the top three in 1:55.04. Maria Ugolkova followed in the women's 200 free with a 2:03.09, while Danielle Villars took second in 2:04.16. Cherelle Ostringer placed third in 2:06.71.

Flori Lang moved into the top 10 in the world thus far this year with a 25.72 in the men's 50 back. Jonathan Massacand earned second in 26.29, while Adrien Perez took third overall in 26.89. Meanwhile, Laetitia Perez claimed the women's 50 back title in 29.89. Laurence Fedrigo touched second in 30.04, while Tamara Rangelov finished third in 30.56.

Christian Schneiter picked up the men's 100 breast title in 1:04.85, while Kilian Bossard finished second in 1:05.03. Yannick Kaser grabbed third in 1:05.19. Stephanie Spahn won the women's 100 breast in 1:13.07, while Corinne Meier finished second in1:13.94. Franziska Hugli rounded out the top three in 1:15.94.

Nico Van Duijn topped the men's 200 fly in 2:03.98, while Liess earned his second podium with a second-place 2:04.17. Simon Rabold wound up third in 2:06.26. Martina van Berkel then torched the competition in the women's 200 fly with a 2:12.97. Annick van Westendorp was her nearest opponent with a second-place 2:23.24. Lisa Stamm took third in 2:23.50.

In relay action, Liess, Maximilien Bon, Lang and Meichtry won the men's 400 free relay in 3:28.88. Meanwhile, Ugolkova, Fedrigo, Laetitia Perez and Noemie Chenevard claimed the women's 400 free relay title in 3:55.93.
