NAIA Championships: Day One Features Diving

ST. PETERS, Missouri, March 3. THE first day of competition at the NAIA Championships held in St. Peters, Mo., featured diving action before swimmers begin hitting the pool at tomorrow.

Concordia's Christine Runkle won the women's one-meter diving title with 225.50 points, while Azusa Pacific went 2-3 with Elizabeth Dotson (197.10) and Kassandra Duncan (195.20) completing the podium. Runkle's win was Concordia's first national championship in women's swimming and diving.

California Baptist's Trevor Gaifman earned the men's three-meter crown with 310.90 points. Lindenwood's John Toczek placed second with 269.85 points. Illinois Tech's Ian McNair snagged third overall with 254.70 points.

Tomorrow will feature the first full day of swimming and diving at the St. Peters Rec-Plex.
