2002 Logo Gets Sneak Preview By Committee -- May 20, 1997

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - Organizers of the Salt Lake City 2002 Winter Games travel to Monte Carlo, Monaco, this week to submit their top-secret logo to the IOC's executive board. But even if they get the go-ahead, the logo remains under wraps until a team of lawyers register it as a trademark in the United States and some 50 other countries. The colors of the logo will match Utah's red rocks and purple mountains.
