Lily Moldenhauer Sets National High School Public Record

SAN ANTONIO, Texas, February 13. AT the UIL Region VII-5A Championships held at the Josh Davis Natatorium, Texas signee Lily Moldenhauer shot down the national public high school record in the women's 100-yard back.

Moldenhauer checked in with a time of 52.89 while representing Winston Churchill at the regional meet. That performance broke the 53.03 public school record set by Mary Beck back in 2008. Moldenhauer just missed taking down an epic result by Natalie Coughlin, who owns the overall record with a 52.86 set while representing independent school Carondelet in 1998. Moldenhauer will be looking to shoot down that record at states.

"I was shocked when I received the news about the record," Moldenhauer told Swimming World. "I was really thrilled and excited when I saw the clock at a 52, and I'm extremely excited to swim it at state."
