Polish Short Course Grand Prix: Radoslaw Kawecki, Agnieszka Ostrowska Triple

KOZIENICE, Poland, January 9. DURING the first day of short course meter competition at the Polish Grand Prix featured a pair of swimmers earn three titles.

Radoslaw Kawecki beat Jakub Jasinski in the men's 50 back, 25.14 to 25.92, while Jasinski held off Oskar Krupecki, 25.34 to 25.83, in the men's 50 fly. Kawecki won his second title of the day with a 2:06.94 in the men's 200 fly. He then snatched his third crown with a time of 1:57.22 in the men's 200 back. Jasinski earned his second triumph of the day with a 2:03.38 in the men's 200 IM.

Agnieszka Ostrowska cruised in the women's 50 breast with a time of 33.75, while Micha Zawadka touched in 30.35 to win the men's 50 breast. Ostrowska picked up a second victory with a 2:30.42 in the women's 200 breast. She then won for a third time with a 2:19.19 in the women's 200 IM.

Aleksandra Urbanczyk raced to the women's 50 fly win with a time of 27.46, while also claiming the women's 50 back in 29.32. Natalia Pawlaczek touched out Aleksandra Nitka and Anna Kawecka, 27.15 to 27.19 and 27.21, to win the women's 50 free. Pawlaczek returned in the women's 200 free with a winning time of 2:03.26.

Paulina Sikora topped the women's 400 IM with a time of 5:00.26, while Marcin Suzin grabbed the men's 400 IM title in 4:33.39. Manuela Wikiel posted the top time in the women's 800 free with a time of 9:14.97, while Piotr Misiak earned the men's 800 free crown with an 8:22.22. Piotr Owczarek had a touch-out victory of his own over Kawecki, 23.63 to 23.66, in the men's 50 free.

Agnieszka Sak held off Sikora, 2:17.26 to 2:17.34, in the women's 200 fly. Nitka rebounded from a touch-out loss to Pawlaczek in the 50 free with a winning time of 2:18.53 in the women's 200 back. August Kosowski placed first in the men's 200 breast in 2:24.70. Dawid Zielinski touched out Misiak, 1:54.82 to 1:54.88, in the men's 200 free.
