University of Wisconsin at River Falls Update, Teams Not Suspended

RIVER FALLS, Wisconsin, December 3. BACK in October, The Morning Swim Show helped get the word out about a potential suspension of the University of Wisconsin at River Falls swimming program. We are proud to announce that the decision has been reversed, according to a note sent to us yesterday by UWRF head coach Bill Henderson.

Here's the exciting new straight from Coach Henderson:

Jason, A couple of months ago The Morning Swim Show did a piece on the possible suspension of the men's and women's swim and dive teams here at UWRF. Earlier today, Chancellor Dean Van Galen decided against the AD's recommendation to suspend and ruled in favor of the teams. This puts us back on solid ground for the future and we are moving forward. This weekend we host the Falcon Invite at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center, the biggest collegiate invitational in the nation.

I just wanted to let you all know since you were so helpful in our cause. Thanks and let me know if there is any more information I can give you for a report on this. The response from the swimming community was amazing and made our effort that much more gratifying today when we heard the news.

Bill Henderson, Head Coach UWRF Swimming and Diving

Congratulations to UWRF on fighting off the team suspension!
