Swedish Short Course Championships: Two Swedish Relay Records Fall

GOTHENBURG, Sweden, November 27. THE second day of action at the Swedish Short Course Championships held in Gothenburg featured two Swedish relay records being rewritten.

The SK Neptun team of Simon Sjodin, Jonas Andersson, Petter Stymne and Stefan Nystrand set a Swedish record in the men's 200 medley relay with a 1:35.01. That effort beat the previous mark of 1:36.58. Vasby SS' Malin Svahnstrom, Petra Granlund, Josefin Lillhage and Ida Sandin clipped the women's 400 free relay Swedish record with a 3:36.20. That performance beat the previous standard of 3:36.92.

Sjodin, Radovan Siljevski, Christoffer Vikstrom and Peter Edvardsson claimed the men's 800 free relay in 7:10.89.

Therese Alshammar set the meet record in the women's 50 fly with a 24.82, while Una Finnman won the women's 200 IM with a meet-record time of 2:10.21.

Christoffer Wallin topped the men's 200 fly with a 1:58.55, while Mattias Carlsson touched out Mans Hjelm, 1:56.15 to 1:56.55, for the men's 200 back title and meet record.

Stymne led the way in the men's 50 free with a 22.06, while Magdalena Kuras claimed the women's 50 breast in 30.68. Finnman set the Swedish junior record with a second-place 30.88.

Gabriella Fagundez cruised to victory in the women's 800 free with an 8:25.73. Martina Granstrom set the Swedish junior record with a second-place 8:35.69. Jakob Dorch cleared 1:00 with a 59.07 to win the men's 100 breast.
