Eindhoven Cup: Job Kienhuis Sets National Record

EINDHOVEN, The Netherlands, November 27. DURING the first day of long course meter swimming at the Eindhoven Cup, The Netherlands witnessed a national mark fall.

Job Kienhuis lowered The Netherlands record in the men's 1500 free with a victorious time of 15:08.77. That swim beat his previous standard of 15:10.31 set in June this year.

The Netherlands' Inge Dekker snatched the women's 100 fly in 59.10, while Israel's Amit Ivry placed second in 1:00.14. Joeri Verlinden followed in the men's 100 fly with a winning time of 53.07. Russia's Evgeny Korotyshkin took second in 53.27.

Wendy van den Zanden touched out Sharon van Rouwendaal, 1:03.33 to 1:03.71, in the women's 100 back. Meanwhile, Randall Bal captured the men's 100 back in 55.08. In a bit longer distance, Hannah Miley cruised to victory in the women's 400 IM with a 4:42.33, while Tom Haffield touched first in the men's 400 IM in 4:28.70.

Kim Janssens knocked off Lia Dekker and Elise Matthysen, 1:10.51 to 1:10.68 and 1:10.71, in the women's 100 breast. Robin van Aggele wound up with the men's 100 breast crown in 1:03.82. Ranomi Kromowidjojo snared the women's 100 free in 53.95, while Filippo Magnini beat Fred Bousquet, 49.82 to 49.90, in the men's 100 free.

Van Rouwendall turned her second-place finish in the 100 back with a winning time of 8:58.01 in the women's 800 free.
