REYKJAVIK, Iceland, November 21. FOUR more national records were set during the Iceland Short Course Championships held in Reykjavik today.
Inga Elin Cryer clinched the national record in the women's 400 IM with a time of 4:53.20. That swim beat Lara Hrund Bjargardottir's 2001 mark of 4:55.12.
Hrafnhildur Luthersdottir (1:08.46) and Erla Dogg Haraldsdottir (1:08.79) both cleared the women's 100 breast national record. Luthersdottir held the previous mark of 1:09.07 since last December.
Jakob Johann Sveinsson smashed the men's 100 breast national record with a winning time of 58.91. That swim beat his previous record of 1:00.18 set in December 2008.
Bryndis Run Hansen followed with a women's 50 fly national record time of 27.28. She clipped the 27.32 set by Kolbrun Kristjansdottir back in 2006.
In other action, Gunnar Orn Arnarson won the men's 400 IM in 4:29.02. Eyglo Osk Gustafsdottir touched first in the women's 100 back in 1:03.10. David Hildiberg Adalsteinsson pocked the men's 100 back title in 58.55. Hjortur Reynisson topped the men's 50 fly in 24.40. Sigrun Bra Sverrisdottir captured the women's 200 free in 2:02.33, while Adalsteinsson earned his second win with a 1:52.97 in the men's 200 free.
