Cascade Slingshot Speed Meet: Lindsay Delmar, Jan Sefl, Erica Morningstar Set Meet Records

CALGARY, Alberta, Canada, November 8. DURING the first night of short course meter action at the Cascade Slingshot Speed Meet held in Calgary, three meet records took a fall.

Lindsay Delmar, 16, of the University of Calgary set the first meet record with a time of 1:00.60 in the women's 100 fly for the win. Jan Sefl of the Czech Republic, captured the men's 200 fly meet record with a time of 1:58.59. Sefl leads the high points race for the men with 824 points on the FINA chart. Sefl also won the men's 50 fly in 25.01. Erica Morningstar of the University of Calgary cut nearly a second from her meet record set last year in the women's 50 free with a 25.87.

World Championship medalist and world record holder Annamay Pierse topped the women's 100 breast in 1:08.28, and leads the women's high point race with 851 FINA points.

In other action, Rory Biskupski won the men's 100 free in 51.48, while Morningstar topped the women's 200 free in 2:01.06. Jason Block topped the men's 50 breast in 29.53 with Bogdan Knezevic taking the men's 400 IM in 4:28.07. Block later doubled up with a win in the 200 breast with a 2:21.18.

Meanwhile, Dan Langlois won the men's 100 back title in 56.99, while Katy Murdoch snatched the women's 50 back crown in 29.03. Brooklynn Snodgrass claimed the women's 200 IM title in 2:20.08 with Chad Bobrosky grabbing the men's 400 free in 4:00.93. Snodgrass doubled up with a 200 back win in 2:15.69. Tyra Rooney took home the women's 800 free title in 8:56.74.
