Polish Short Course Grand Prix: Radoslaw Kawecki Just Misses National Record

CIECHANOW, Poland, October 4. A day after smashing his Polish record in the men's 200 back, Radoslaw Kawecki nearly dropped his mark in the 100 back (52.35) at the Polish Short Course Grand Prix held in Ciechanow. Kawecki captured the 100 back title today in 52.44, while Mateusz Matczak finished a distant second in 56.45. Mateusz Wysoczynski completed the top three in 56.88.

Katarzyna Wilk cruised in the women's 100 free to win with a time of 54.89. She came within half a second of Agata Korc's national record of 54.37. Natalie Pawlaczek finished second in 58.56 with Anna Kawecka taking third in 58.79. Konrad Czerniak neared Bart Kizierowski's national record (47.75) in the men's 100 free with a winning time of 48.20. Lukasz Gasior placed second in 49.68, while Dawid Zieja touched third in 50.19.

Paulina Zachoszcz captured the women's 100 breast title in 1:09.63. Ewa Cecieszko took second in 1:10.76 with Agnieszka Ostrowska grabbing third in 1:11.34. Dawid Szulich held off Slawomir Wolniak and Piotr Jachowicz, 1:02.46 to 1:02.90 and 1:02.98, for the men's 100 breast victory.

Klaudia Nazieblo earned the women's 100 back crown in 1:01.45. Alicja Tchorz claimed second in 1:02.80 with Zuzanna Mazurek winding up third in 1:04.85. Meanwhile, Marcin Babuchowski won the men's 100 fly in 52.42. Pawel Korzeniowski touched second in 53.52 with Marcin Ciecelak claiming third in 54.65.

Aleksandra Urbanczyk topped the women's 100 IM in 1:04.07, while Tchorz finished second in 1:05.62. Katarzyna Olnowska took third in 1:06.35. Marcin Tarczynski snatched the men's 100 IM in 56.27 with Czerniak (56.52) and Jakub Jasinski (56.99) rounding out the top three.

Paula Ukowska snared the women's 400 free crown in 4:16.03. Dominika Gawelczyk placed second in 4:19.24, while Aleksandra Kaminska finished third in 4:20.75. Przemyslaw Stanczyk won the men's 400 free in 3:50.92. Maciej Hreniak (3:51.74) and Krzysztof Pielowski (3:53.07) earned second and third.
