Britta Steffen Heading to Australia for Temporary Training Camp

BERLIN, Germany, September 19. EARLIER this week, multiple Olympic medalist Britta Steffen of Germany announced that she would be traveling to Australia to train in Brisbane for a month starting tomorrow, according to DSV.

Not only will Steffen be training with Libby Trickett according to DSV, she is going to Australia to work on improving her English-speaking skills. It is a similar move to Kosuke Kitajima now living in Southern California. There is some confusion regarding the report since Trickett previously announced she is taking a break from the sport and considering retirement.

"I want to continue to swim until the 2012 London Olympics," Steffen told DSV. "London is attractive to me because my parents have promised to make the event if I swim in it. My parents have never been to an international competition. So, it is worth it. My greatest fear is that they book the trip and I do not qualify."

Steffen next targeted events are the World Cup in Berlin in November and the European Short Course Championships.
