Mondays are always a big day on the show…and today is certainly no different. We have two great athletes joining us on the show for the first time…Christine Magnuson, the Olympic silver medalist in the 100 fly has a new training home so we'll ask her about that in a couple minutes, and then we'll talk to Drew Livingston, the newest national platform diving champion.

But first…the news…and this picture will make your heart skip a beat if you're an American swimming fan…Michael Phelps wearing a boot cast…Apparently Phelps was injured in his car wreck a couple weeks ago…but we've heard it's not serious. This photo was taken during a PR appearance that Phelps did while taping a segment of basketball star Shaquille O'Neals new reality show…the episode will air on NBC on September 15th.

Now onto college swimming. Mary Beck, who was voted as Swimming World's female high school swimmer of the year in 2008, has had a rough transition into college. Beck has already transferred from Cal-Berkeley to Louisiana State University after just one semester at Cal. Beck graduated from high school in December 2008 and immediately began her freshman year at Cal in January. She set two public high school records in the 200 IM and 100 back and qualified for NCAAs but did not score for the Bears on the way to their first national championship.

Over in Serbia the junior world water polo championships are in the third day of preliminary action. We have recaps of each day so far on our water polo channel at swimmingworld.com.

We're just two weeks away from a gathering of the most prestigious American coaches in history. On Sept. 10 at the American Swimming Coaches Association's world clinic, nine of the head women's and men's Olympic head coaches for the United States will be in Fort Lauderdale for a special reunion banquet. Stan Tinkham, Gus Stager, Peter Daland, Jack Nelson, Don Gambril, Mark Schubert, Eddie Reese, Skip Kenney and Jack Bauerle. Tickets for the event are still available by going to www.swimmingcoach.org. And Swimming World TV will be in Fort Lauderdale filming the banquet and bringing you interviews with those coaches and others at the clinic.
