NCAA Div. I Women: Miami Downs Florida Atlantic, North Florida; Falls to Syracuse -- February 3, 2001

Coral Gables, FL, Feb. 3. THE UNIVERSITY of Miami women's swimming and diving team defeated both the Florida Atlantic University 127-106 and the University of North Florida 172-51 while falling to Syracuse 139-97.

Pacing the Hurricane women were, sophomore Elaine Schwartz (Mt. Laurel, NJ), who won the 400-yard individual medley (4:29.29) and senior Jennifer Weir (Cooper City, FL) who won the 100-yard freestyle (52.94).

Freshman Melanie Rinaldi (Quebec, Canada) took first while teammate Michelle Davidson finished second in the 1-meter springboard.
