ROME, Italy, July 19. AFTER 24 hours of uncertainty, FINA announced that the 5K, 10K and 25K races at the World Championships will be held at Ostia Beach as originally scheduled despite the recent destruction due to strong winds and heavy surf.

"We're ready to go," U.S. head open water coach Catherine Vogt said. "The kids have been great and everyone is in the same situation."

FINA confirmed that the open water events will take place in Ostia according to the following program:

• July 21, 2009 (Tuesday): 5km Women (09:00) and 5km Men (11:00)
• July 22, 2009 (Wednesday): 10km Women (09:00) and 10km Men (13:00)
• July 25, 2009 (Saturday): 25km Men (09:00) and 25km Women (09:10)
