Croatian Championships: Duje Draganja, Dominik Straga, Monika Babok Set National Records

RIJEKA, Croatia, July 5. THREE more Croatian records fell at the Croatian Championships held in Rijeka.

Duje Draganja and Mario Todorovic kept up their meet-long rivalry in the men's 50 free semis. With the pair already trading Croatian records the first two days, Draganja topped the sprint free semis with a 21.79. That effort cleared his standard of 21.85 set in 2008. Todorovic qualified second in 22.45. Draganja returned in the finale with a winning time of 22.04. Todorovic placed second in 22.30 with Marko Tanasovski placing third in 22.54.

In the men's 100 fly semis, Dominik Straga beat Todorovic's national standard of 52.26 with a sterling time of 51.42.

Monika Babok cleared 26 seconds in the women's 50 free with a national-record effort of 25.83. Sanja Jovanovic held the previous mark of 26.09. Maja Pavlovic (26.71) and Doroteja Bednjanec (26.88) touched second and third.

Petra Radovic cruised in the women's 400 free with a winning time of 4:24.21. Ivana Pijanovic placed second in 4:27.00, while Mia Runtas completed the top three in 4:32.38. Mario Delac followed in the men's 400 free with a triumphant clocking of 4:04.50. Marko Duric touched second in 4:08.65, while Ivan Cizmar finished third in 4:09.09.

Sanja Jovanovic won the women's 100 back in 1:01.29, while Lidija Franic (1:02.98) and Mabel Sulic (1:04.51) rounded out the podium. Gordan Kozulj snared the men's 100 back title in 55.27. Niksa Roki (55.58) and Ante Cvitkovic (55.59) battled for second and third.

Smiljana Marinovic raced to the women's 50 breast crown in 32.75. Gabrijela Korac (33.76) and Lana Dragojevic (33.90) snagged second and third. Vanja Rogulj captured the men's 50 breast in 28.47. Ivan Bilic (28.62) and Nikola Delic (28.75) finished second and third.
