Swimming World Five-Star Lily Moldenhauer Chooses College

SAN ANTONIO, Texas, July 2. IT's only been a day since the Class of 2010 has been allowed to be called by college coaches, and Alamo Area's Lily Moldenhauer has already made her decision.

Moldenhauer, a Swimming World five-star prospect who represents Winston Churchill High on the prep circuit, is remaining in-state to attend the University of Texas. Head women's coach Kim Brackin continues to shine in the recruiting wars after putting together some of the top classes in the country since joining Texas.

"I chose Texas because I have been dreaming of swimming for UT since I went to the [Texas Age Group Meet] for the first time at 10 years old," Moldenhauer told Swimming World. "I love the girls and coaches, and it's one of the top rate schools and swimming programs in the nations. I'm so blessed, and excited, to have the opportunity to be part of it. The girls on the team, and the girls that will be on the team, are great friends to have. I can't wait to start practicing with them. Hook'Em Horns!"

Moldenhauer owns five long course meter times (100m free 56.66; 200m free 2:01.83; 100m back 1:03.47; 100m fly 1:00.80; 200m fly 2:12.64) that clear the 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials Cut standard, which makes her a five-star recruit. Once updated cuts are released from USA Swimming, the system will be updated.

Moldenhauer also would have qualified in three events (100y free 49.01; 100y back 53.09; 100y fly 52.83) at the 2009 NCAA Division I Championships.
