Texas Senior Circuit, Austin: Aaron Peirsol Doubles on Final Night

AUSTIN, Texas, June 14. THE last night of action at the Texas Senior Circuit meet held in Austin featured a double from Longhorn's Aaron Peirsol. Peirsol claimed titles in the 100 back and 200 IM.

Peirsol crushed the competition in the men's 200 IM with a 2:01.80. Hayes Johnson touched second in 2:04.79, while Longhorn's Bryan Collins took third in 2:06.48.

Peirsol captured his second triumph of the evening with a swift time of 54.72 in the men's 100 back. Dallas Mustang Pontus Renholm placed second in 57.04, while Alan Maher clinched third in 57.51.

Texas A&M's Melissa Hain cruised in the women's 200 IM with a 2:20.79. Devon Callaghan placed second in 2:22.61, while Hain's teammate Melanie Dodds completed the top three in 2:22.83.

Longhorn's Tanica Jamison snatched the women's 100 free title in 55.74, while Texas A&M's Sarah Woods (57.50), Hain (58.23), Kristen Heiss (58.60) and Hannah Kinder (58.65) completed the rest of the top five. Longhorn dominated the men's 100 free with the top six finishers. Garrett Weber-Gale (49.13), James Feigen (49.77), Dale Rogers (49.80), Matthew Lowe (50.25), Ryan Verlatti (51.29) and Ben Van Roekel (51.39) touched first through sixth.

Longhorn kept on rolling as Susana Escobar won the women's 800 free in 9:00.35. Conroe Swim's Mikayla Felchak placed second in 9:11.53, while Longhorn's Koryn Ternes finished third in 9:13.33. Jackson Wilcox came through in the men's 1500 free with a commanding victory when he touched in 15:21.15. Longhorn's James Robertson finished second in 15:48.48, while Plano's Kyle McIntee took third in 16:07.97.

Elizabeth Tinnon raced to victory in the women's 50 breast with a 32.99. North Texas Nadadores' Katie Meili took second in 33.97, while Callaghan finished third in 34.09. Matthew Hoyland topped the men's 50 breast in 29.43 with James Fike (30.53) and Houston's Diego Suarez (31.01) rounded out the top three.

Hayley McGregory blazed to a 1:00.10 to claim the women's 100 back title. Heiss placed second behind her with a 1:05.67, while teammate Emily Neal finished third in 1:05.90.

Dallas Mustang Martina Moravcova posted a 27.47 in the women's 50 fly for the win. Jamison placed second in 27.59, while Cy-Fair's Rosa Gentile touched third in 29.07. Moravcova's teammate Greg Doughty won the men's 50 fly in 25.41. Plano's Seth Stubblefield (26.24) and Tommy Sacco (26.33) wound up second and third.
