Indiana Diving Signs Zac Nees for 2009-10 Season

BLOOMINGTON, Indiana, May 12. INDIANA University head diving coach Dr. Jeff Huber announced today that Hatfield, Pa. native Zac Nees will join the IU diving program beginning with the 2009-10 season.

Nees is a four-year letterwinner at North Penn High School, winning the 2009 Junior East national title on the one-meter springboard. As a senior he finished second at the state meet while winning district and league championships. His junior season Nees was a bronze medalist at states and won the league title. Nees was named the team's Most Valuable Diver, all-league, all-district and all-state each of the last three seasons.

"We were lucky to discover Zac so late in the recruiting season," Huber said. "He is an amazing talent, great kid, and very good student. Besides bringing diving talent to our program, he will also bring great character and a strong work ethic. I am sure that he will be someone whom everyone will take note of next year during the collegiate season."

Nees' individual diving success led to his team's eighth-place finish at the state meet his sophomore season, and league championships his sophomore, junior and senior years. He intends to study in the business field at Indiana.
