Rockville Montgomery Claims Two NAG Records En Route to 19th Straight Potomac Valley Swimming Junior Olympic Title

LANDOVER, Maryland, March 31. DEFENDING PVS Junior Olympic Champion Rockville Montgomery Swim Club claimed the combined team championship over a strong showing from Curl-Burke Swim Club and Machine Aquatics.

In the closely contested girls race RMSC (2891) edged CUBU (2590) with MACH (721.5) claiming the third spot. The men's team scores where RMSC (3360), CUBU (2494.5) and MACH (778).

The 14 and Under formatted Junior Olympics produced many LSC records and NAG consideration times even though many of the 13-14 athletes were in Orlando participating at NCSA Junior Nationals.

The meet was highlighted by two National Age Group Records. On Saturday the RMSC 10 & under Girls 200 Yard Medley Relay (Eliya Harnood, Sydney Kirsch, Dorit Song and Claudia Gibson) went 2:02.82 to break Pointe Aquatics' standing mark of 2:03.38. On Sunday night RMSC's 13-14 boys high point winner Jack Conger, shocked the crowd with an astonishing 1:46.82 200 Yard Backstroke shattering Matt Grevers 1:49.08 from 2000.

Other Individual high point honors went to Dorit Song (RMSC, 10&under Girls), Christian Ginieczki (HACC, 10&under Boys), Harrison Gu (RMSC, 11-12 Boys) Katie Ledecky (CUBU, 11-12 Girls) and Dylan Staniszewski (CUBU, 13-14 Girls).
