NCAA Women’s Division I Championships: Dana Vollmer Wins Another Title, This Time 100 Free

COLLEGE STATION, Texas, March 21. CALIFORNIA's Dana Vollmer continued to make a run as the MVP of this year's NCAA Championships as she clinched another national title, this time in the 100 free.

Vollmer clocked a 47.17 to win with the fifth-fastest effort in the event all time. Vollmer previously won the 200 free title as well as helped Cal to an 800 free NCAA and U.S. Open record.

Vollmer's victory represents the first time that a California Golden Bear has won the 100 free in NCAA history.

Texas' Karlee Bispo placed second in 47.48 to move into the top 10 all time in the event, while Stanford's Julia Smit finished third in 47.64.

Georgia remained in the lead with 356.5 points, while California moved into second with 341 points. Arizona slipped to third with 325.5 points. Stanford (255.5) and Auburn (236) held strong with fourth and fifth.
