Swimming World Six-Star Promotion: Alex Forrester; Announces College Commitment

PHOENIX, Arizona, March 9. THIS weekend, Alex Forrester earned promotion to the elite Swimming World six-star recruit status. Her proven talent and dedication to the sport of swimming demonstrates her ability to be an immediate impact recruit in the Swimming World College Recruit Rankings powered by Take Your Marks.

Forrester also informed Swimming World that she has signed to attend Yale University. The Ivy League continues to pick up some top-notch swimmers with the likes of Alex Righi and Alicia Aemisegger also competing in the conference.

"I chose Yale because it was the school that was the best overall fit for me," Forrest told Swimming World. "Yale is an incredible school and I feel at home there. It's also close to my family and is a train ride away from my sister, who attends Brown, whom I'm very close to."

Forrester, who competes for the ascendant Bluefish Swim Club, attends Rocky Hill High School. The butterfly specialist has posted a pair of times that would have earned her a spot in a B final last year at the NCAA Division I Women's Championships. She has clocked times of 53.04 in the 100-yard fly and 1:56.49 in the 200-yard fly.

To be a six-star, a recruit must have a lifetime best short course yard time that would either place them in the past year's A final of an event at the NCAA Division I Championships, or own multiple times that would have reached B finals in the past year

If you know of anyone else of high school age that has recorded a time that would have put them into A finals at last year's NCAA Division I Championships, please let us know via Reaction Time.
