Mid-American Conference Championships: Day Three -- February 27, 2009

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio, February 27. MIAMI University took a slight 31.5 point leads over second place Ohio University after day three of the 2009 Mid-American Conference women's swimming and diving championships.

The RedHawks won the 400 medley relay in a time of 3:39.65, setting a championship record, and also received an individual title in the 100 breaststroke from Kelsey Vehr. In the prelims of the event, Vehr set a meet record with her time of 1:00.48.

Ohio's Rachel Heim earned two first place finishes, sweeping the 100 fly in 53.47 and the 100 backstroke in a a championships record time of 54.65. The Bobcats' Ashley Marion also set a championships record in winning the 400 IM in a time of 4:15.37. Eastern Michigan's Alissa Ricard won the 200 free in a time of 1:46.23.


Competition concludes Saturday beginning at 11 a.m.
