MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa, February 15. IT was a close meet at the IHSAA Boys State Championships. Dubuque Senior took first with 152 points, followed by Ames (147) and Cedar Falls (133).
Ian Ford, Joseph Gallet, Will McCartan, and John Sevier (Cedar Rapids, Washington) won the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:35.65. Gallet had an individual win in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 59.05.
Senior Mitch Taylor (Johnston) won the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly with times of 21.10 and 50.67 respectively.
Banning Young teamed up with Sevier, Gallet, and McCartan for a first-place finish in the 200 freestyle relay (1:25.90).
Jordan Huff (Dubuque Senior) won the 200 (1:40.74) and 100 (45.07) freestyles.
Dubuque Senior's Andrew Peter, Eric Ferring, Mark Ross, and Huff closed the meet with a first-place finishing time of 3:08.44 in the 400 freestyle relay.
