Introduction of Track Start Blocks May Be Delayed

SYDNEY, Australia, February 13. ACCORDING to Nicole Jeffery of The Australian, delays in production and lack of availability of the Omega track-start blocks may result in the product not being used at the FINA World Championships scheduled for Rome in July.

According to Jeffery's reporting, "[Australian national head coach Alan] Thompson, who sits on the FINA coaches commission, revealed that FINA was reconsidering its decision to introduce the blocks in Rome because of the production issue.

‘There's not an enormous amount of availability of these blocks, so FINA is doing an audit to see who's got what,' Thompson said. ‘If there's not enough availability, they could be cancelled for Rome.'"
