British Diver Blake Aldridge Survives Assault

SOUTHAMPTON, United Kingdom, February 9. OVER the weekend, British Olympic diver Blake Aldridge survived a brutal nightclub attack in Southampton according to Sky News.

The Olympian, who competed with Tom Daley at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, "suffered a broken nose, cuts and bruising and required 10 stitches to his head after he was attacked by three men."

"I was walking down steps to join two friends on the dance floor when I was jumped by three blokes at about midnight," Aldridge told Sky News. "I've no idea what their motivation was because it was not as if there had been an argument or anything like that and they didn't say anything."

Aldridge has been forced to withdraw from competing at the British Championships later this year.
