Eastern Swim Classic: Katie Hoff Triples on Final Day

ATLANTA, Georgia, January 19. THE last day of action at the Eastern Swim Classic held in Atlanta featured Olympian Katie Hoff easily completing a title trifecta.

Hoff began the final day of swimming by cruising to victory in the 200-yard IM with a time of 1:57.97. That effort cleared teammates Felicia Lee (2:02.08) and Kendall Surhoff (2:09.58). NBAC's Brennan Morris held off teammate Mike Thomas, 1:55.08 to 1:56.77, for the win in the men's 200 IM.

Hoff clinched another title when she sprinted to a 50.20 readout in the 100 free with Lee (51.52) and Christie Raleigh (52.34) trailing. T.J. Leon of the City of Mobile eased through the men's 100 free with a winning time of 46.04. Bjoern Hornikel (48.15) and Spencer Kerns (48.84) took second and third, respectively.

Lee went sub-2:00 in the women's 200 back with a top time of 1:59.60, while Raleigh finished second in 2:07.27. NBAC teammate Drew Cosgarea (1:51.76) downed Morris (1:52.45) and Thomas (1:54.57) in the men's 200 back.

Hoff completed an outstanding meet with another win, this time when she hit the wall in 9:27.40 in the 1000 free. Surhoff provided her closest competition with a 10:20.97. Morris earned his second win of the day with a 9:26.79 in the men's 1000 free. Cosgarea took second in 9:42.79, while Thomas joined them under 10:00 with a third-place 9:45.92.
