CORAL GABLES, Florida, January 12. THE University of Kansas took a 142-97 decision on Saturday, January 10, defeating the University of Miami Hurricanes at the Norman A. The Hurricanes ended the day with a great showing in the 200 freestyle relay, going first and second, respectively, with the ‘A' squad finishing atop the list at 1:38.98. That team consisted of Saarnak, Torres, Jacoby and anchored by Pomerleau. The ‘B' team was composed of Elgendy, Labreche, Petzold and anchored by Lozier who finished second with a mark of 1:43.56.

For the Hurricanes, this was their first Big 12 opponent this year, and their last opponent from beyond the east coast.

The Hurricanes return to the pool next Saturday, January 17 as they play host to the Blue Devils of Central Connecticut State University. The race is set to begin at 1 p.m. back at the Whitten university Center Pool. This race will serve as "Senior Appreciation Day" for the Orange and Green as they will say "good-bye" to seniors Britta Boesing, Katie Eason, Sarah Lozier and diver Jenna Dreyer.

Miami's previously scheduled home race against FIU on January 31, set to serve as "Senior Appreciation Day", will now take place at FIU. The race will still begin at the regularly scheduled time of 11 a.m. across town in Miami.
