Junior Pan Pacs: Australia, U.S. Split Open Water Events

GUAM, January 12. DURING the final session of swimming at the Junior Pan Pacs held in Guam, Australia and the U.S. split the event titles in the 10K open water races.

Australian teammates Belinda Bennett and Danielle DeFrancesco snagged gold and silver in the women's event with times of 2:04:11.66 and 2:04:13.03, respectively. Meanwhile, Japan's Hiromi Okazawa picked up bronze in 2:04:15.36 to touch out American Eva Fabien (2:04:15.63).

Ryan Feeley of the U.S. emerged victorious in the men's race with a time of 1:53:37.65, while Australia's Rhys Mainstone captured silver in 1:53:38.20. Japan's Kohei Yamada pocketed bronze in 1:53:39.39 to round out the podium.
