Robinson Becomes The First High-Schooler To Break 20 Seconds! -- March 6, 1997

At the 1997 Texas State High School Championships, Anthony Robinson of Houston Memorial became the first high school swimmer to break 20 seconds in the 50 yard freestyle. His 19.91 eclipsed the previous national high school record of 20.01 set by Joe Hudephol.
