Chesapeake Elite Pro-Am: Tanica Jamison Claims Pair of Titles

OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma, December 20. LONGHORN's Tanica Jamison pocketed a pair of event titles during the third night of swimming at the Chesapeake Elite Pro-Am held in Oklahoma City.

Jamison opened the evening with a dominant victory in the 200-yard IM when she touched in 1:58.83, ahead of Nadadore Katie Meili's 2:06.05. Jamison also grabbed the 100 back crown in 52.70 with Minnesota's Roxane Akradi finishing second in 53.31.

Meanwhile, Mustang Matt Thompson cruised in the men's 200 IM with a 1:45.81 beating Greenville's Matt Houser (1:48.71) by several seconds. In the men's 100 back, Schroeder YMCA's Adam Mania checked in with a 47.16, while Mustang Jonathon Berrettini placed second in 48.92.

In the 50 free shootouts, Rachel Komisarz emerged triumphant among the women with a final round swim of 22.26, while FAST's Camilo Becerra won the final round with the fastest time of 19.39. Results provided by meet management are incorrect.

In an exciting finish, Trojan's Keri Hehn touched out Lakeside's Elizabeth Tinnon, 2:11.53 to 2:11.62, in the women's 200 breast. William Colbert of Schroeder YMCA had an easier time of it with a 2:02.30 in the men's 200 breast, downing David DeGeus (2:06.74) en route to the title.

In middle distance action, Mission Viejo open water Olympian Chloe Sutton cruised with a winning time of 4:43.28 in the women's 500 free, while Rice's Brittany Massengale placed second in 4:46.04. Mission Viejo went 1-2-3 in the men's race with Tom Shields (4:25.93), Charlie Rimkus (4:26.12) and Brock Redondo (4:28.95) sweeping the podium.

The 400 medley relays completed the evening as Topeka's Sammie Schurig, Kristin Strecker, Emily Dicus and Haley Molden won the women's race in 3:52.77 and Schroeder YMCA's Carl Newenhouse, Colbert, Mitchell Friedemann and Mania clocked a 3:20.98 to win the men's championship.
