Massachusetts Girls Division I, Division II High School State Championships

WELLESLEY, Massachusetts, December 12. CHELMSFORD (277) took home the state title at the Massachusetts Girls Division I High School State Championships. Acton-Boxborough placed second with 170 points, followed by Reading and Andover who tied for third with 162.5 points. In Division II, Notre Dame Academy – Hingham finished first with 238 points, Bishop Feehan placed second (183.5) and Bishop Stang took third (180.5).

Division I Individual Results
Chelmsford's Kaila Umbarger, Mary Kate Cohen, Erin Phinney and Kelsey Sheridan won the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:51.21. The group touched out Reading by merely .64 seconds.

Sophomore Jacqui Snell (Framingham) scored 445.25 points to win the diving competition.

Alex Frasier of New Bedford had individual wins in the 50 (24.27) and 100 (51.88) freestyles.

Lexington went head-to-head with Chelmsford in the 200 freestyle relay. Lexington's Priscilla Briggs, Eve Lowen, Scarlett Hao and Amy O'Brien finished first with a time of 1:41.26.

Erica Belcher (Reading) had dual individual wins. She won the 200 IM and 100 backstroke with times of 2:07.04 and 57.98 respectively.

Belcher joined Alex Hunter, Julie Trodden and Jenn Trodden for a first-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay (3:38.43).

Division II Individual Results
Bishop Feehan's Kendra Cheng took first place in the 200 IM (2:06.84) and the 100 butterfly (57.82). She joined Julie Magyar, Samantha Jankowski and Erin Foley for a win the 200 freestyle relay (1:41.18).

In the diving competition, Katharine Middleton (Bishop Stang) placed first with a score of 368.35.

Caroline Vogel, Ellesse Lunde, Erica Hasson and Caitlin Cronin (Notre Dame Academy – Hingham) had a first-place finish in the 200 medley relay (1:50.43).

Vogel, Lunde and Cronin had individual wins as well. Vogel won the 100 backstroke (57.43), Lunde won the 100 breaststroke (1:07.45), and Cronin won the 50 (24.19) and the 100 freestyles (52.27). The girls teamed up with Katie Radin to close the meet with a winning time of 3:36.40 in the 400 freestyle relay.
