IUP, Kutztown vs. Lock Haven

LOCK HAVEN, Pennsylvania, November 15. GALIT Regev won a pair of events and Jen Price and Kate Rowe finished in the top two in three events to lead the IUP women to a split of a tri-meet, defeating Lock Haven 83-38 and losing to Kutztown 71-51.

The men lost to Kutztown by a score of 133-107 despite winning six events, including three by All-American Pawel Glowiak. Regev took first place in the 50 freestyle (25.75) and 100 butterfly (1:02.66).

The Crimson Hawk women won two other events, with Price capturing the 500 freestyle (5:21.97) and Melissa Kucharczuk touching first in the 200 freestyle (1:59.05).

Price also finished second in the 1000 freestyle (11.01.69) and 200 butterfly (2:19.87) while Rowe was the runner-up in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.55), 200 breaststroke (2:34.11) and 200 individual medley (2:18.90).

Kucharczuk was second in the 100 freestyle (55.30) and Casey Beck was second in the 200 backstroke (2:15.83).

On the men's side, Glowiak won the 100 backstroke (56.48), 200 backstroke (1:58.70) and 200 individual medley (2:01.12). Walter Smith and Jimmy Yelinek also won individual events, with Smith taking the 100 butterfly (55.19) and Yelinek finishing first in the 50 freestyle (22.98).

Smith was also second in the 100 freestyle (50.17), Jeremy Freedman was second in both the 100 butterfly (56.46) and 200 butterfly (2:10.49), and Anthony Termin was the runner-up in the 200 freestyle (1:52.14). The team of Smith, Yelinek, Termin and David Donovan won the 400 freestyle relay in 3:25.89.

Both IUP teams are back in action Thursday through Saturday when they host the Crimson Invitational at Memorial Field House.
