World Record for Renaud! -- March 3, 1997

University of Calgary's Chris Renaud broke Olympic champion Jeff Rouse's world short-course record in the 50m backstroke at the CIAU (Canadian Interuniversity Athletic Union) Swimming Championships.

Renaud clocked a 24.25, beating the 24.37 standard set by Rouse in 1995.
